Bakery owner, Josh Virkler, was born and raised in Ellington, CT. After a brief residency in Illinois, where he started a successful Tea Room, he returned to Ellington with his wife and 5 children.  He first worked as an employee for the popular Farmer's Market staple, LuAnn's Bakery. Josh had a grand vision for LuAnn's and helped bring it to life in March 2017, opening their first brick-and-mortar location at 238 Somers Road in Ellington. Their second location, LuAnn's Coffee and Good Eats Drive Thru, opened in 2020 and is located on West Rd in Ellington, connected to the Big Y Express. In January 2022, LuAnn's Bakery Hub production facility opened at 420 Somers Road in Ellington, and is proud to be the home of LuAnn's dedicated Gluten Free Marketplace kitchen, as well.

At Luann’s all of our items are made from scratch, using high quality ingredients. We use our favorite recipes from our great-grandmas, grandmas, aunts and friends. But like any artisan, we have fun getting creative in the kitchen too, with our daily and seasonal specials.

At any given point in time, you may find upwards of 25-30 team members working diligently to provide customers with the best coffee, home-cooked meals, baked goods and customer service in Ellington.
